Did you know?...
Your Satellite/Cable Co. is charging you extra for your local HD stations!
I discovered this was an added charge on my satellite bill and removed it immediately..!
Did you know that if you opt to receive your local HDTV channels through your Dish or cable company like Directv or Dish Network your not only paying on average $10-$15/month (mine was $10) more... you are losing quality of your picture!
When digital signals are sent to your HDTV via your Dish or cable company other than a HDTV antenna they are in a "compressed" state. The reason being is that a "true" HD signal in it's purest form has too large a bandwidth for cable or satellite companies to handle. So "they" compress the signal to accommodate all the other channels they offer you through their service! To make things worse, every time your provider adds channels to your service in the future, they will have to compress your local digital signals a little every time!
When you get your antenna try this test...
Watch a HD program via your cable/dish provider then switch to a HD local station (which will then switch to your antenna)..definitely a BIG difference!
So you can do the math and see that it won't take long at all for a HDTV antenna to pay for itself.
Also if you read my other page you will find that if you don't have your own HD antenna you will be loosing out on extra channels your local broadcasters will begin to have!
