Since getting my converter box hooked up in Februrary of '09 I have tried one antenna from
Radio Shack, one from Sears, and two from Wal-Mart. None were as good as my old one. I bought the Winegard with some trepidation but it has proven to be the best so far. In the last thirty days I have not re-scanned ONCE.
There is still an occassional interrupt but they are brief and only a slight adjustment of the antenna is necessary. Part of the problem lies with one station that is still at 50/50 analog-digital and should disappear on 6/12/09.
Over all I would reccomend the purchase of this antenna(SS-3000) to anyone.

The SS-3000 SharpShooter definitely outperformed the Terk TV5 for reception of channels. Not only did I get more channels but much better signal strength and picture quality. These are the only OTA antennas I have tried. I am able to get the major networks and public stations in HD and others in digital. Switching between cable and the Sharpshooter during HD broadcasts showed no difference in picture quality on my 1080p TV. My channel selection is now better than the local basic cable offerings. I gave the SS-3000 SharpShooter only 4 stars just because to maximize the signal strength for every channel, I have to turn it slightly. I don't mind doing it, but my wife does. However, since I cannot place it next to an exterior window, under better circumstances it probably wouldn't need adjustment at all.

This antenna is easy to assemble and works great. I have purchased other cheaper antennas and had poor results. If I had purchased this antenna first I would have saved a lot of money.
There is no pixel distortion with this antenna.
